Gutter cleaning
Every run cleared by hand and bagged, roof-edge debris removed, downspouts flushed.
Gutter cleaning in Grandview Heights means working in one of West Palm Beach's oldest intact neighborhoods, built mostly between 1910 and 1925 with early craftsman bungalows on narrow infill lots, just north of where the Palm Beach Heights area was demolished in 1989 to make way for CityPlace and sits only a few blocks from Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard today. The bungalows here were some of the first permanent houses in the city, built well before most of the live oaks that now shade them.

Bungalow rooflines here tend to run shorter than the grand lakefront estates nearby, but the canopy overhead is just as old, and the tight infill lots mean two or three mature trees can shade an entire roof at once rather than just one side of it.

Grandview Heights holds some of the oldest intact bungalows left in West Palm Beach, most of them built between 1910 and 1925, before most of the live oaks that now shade them had even been planted. That order matters: the trees grew up around houses that were already there, which means the canopy here does not always line up neatly with roof shape the way it would in a neighborhood where the landscaping and the construction happened together. We look at each house individually rather than assuming a bungalow roofline behaves like the ones two streets over, because the relationship between a specific tree and a specific roof here is often older and more tangled than in newer parts of the city.
The lots in Grandview Heights are tight infill parcels, and it is common for two or three mature trees to shade an entire roof at once instead of just one side of it, which spreads debris across every run rather than concentrating it where you might expect. That changes how we budget time on the job: we are not planning for one heavy run and three light ones, we are planning for a roof where the load is close to even everywhere, and we check every run with that in mind rather than rushing the sides that look lighter from the ground.
Being this close to where the old Palm Beach Heights neighborhood was demolished in 1989 to make way for CityPlace, and only a few blocks from Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, Grandview Heights sees more passing construction and renovation traffic than some of the quieter historic streets nearby. That means more dust and debris blowing in from outside the immediate yard on top of what the trees themselves drop, something we factor into how thorough a first-time cleaning needs to be if it has been a while since the gutters were last checked.
We are licensed and insured, we quote every job by phone before committing to a number, and we photograph the before and after on every visit. For a neighborhood built this early in the city's history, we think that kind of plain documentation is worth more than a sales pitch: you get to see exactly what came out of a century-old bungalow's gutters, not just take our word for it. If we spot a hanger pulling loose or fascia that looks soft, which happens more often on houses this old, we tell you directly and point you to the right trade rather than treating it as our repair to make.

A real before-and-after from a gutter cleaning job, not a stock photo.
